Santa Fe Pianist/Composer Robert Fox has worked with many Jazz greats, most notably Ira Sullivan, Stanley Turrentine, James Moody, Eddie Harris and Eddie Daniels. He is a co-founder with John Trentacosta, of Straight Up, an award winning quintet, and appears on both recordings. He holds degrees in Jazz Piano Performance from the Berklee School of Music and the University of Miami. He is a member of BMI and a life member of the AfofM, local 161-710.
Bass:
Cyrus Campbell is a promising young creator of improvised music. Hailing from Santa Fe, New Mexico, he excelled at the Berklee College of Music where he studied performance and composition with luminaries like Bob Gulloti, John Lockwood, Ralph Peterson, Dave Santoro, Ayn Inserto, Greg Hopkins, Kenny Werner, among many other others. While at school he performed frequently characters such as Tomoki Sanders and John Michael Bradford.
After graduating, Cyrus spent time in California playing in the Bay Area scene where he recorded saxophonist Eric Nakanishi’s album “Breakout". Since then he has returned to Santa Fe as a prominent figure in it’s budding improvised music scene. He frequently performs with Alex Murzyn, Bob Fox, and John Trentacosta for their residency at Club Legato. Campbell also performs in various contemporary music projects with musicians such as New Orleans based pianist Brian Hass with Argentinian vocalist and composer Carolina Mama.
Drummer:
John Trentacosta. A native New Yorker and drummer, John Trentacosta brought his collective big band and small group experience to New Mexico in 1992. After two decades as the rhythm force behind jazz notables Chuck Wayne, Jimmy Knepper, and the Al Porcino big band, John brought new energy to the New Mexico jazz scene. He received his formal music education at New York University, and was an Assistant Arts Director for The Staten Island Chamber Music Players, from 1978–1992.
In 1993, he formed the jazz group Straight Up, and for nearly two decades he was the driving force behind the groups busy schedule and the two CD releases “Live Jazz in The Desert” and “No Need For Words”, receiving a MIC award in 2003 for best producer of the latter.
He has been an in demand part of the rhythm team for concerts with saxophone legend James Moody, vocalist Teri Thornton, Doug Lawrence and 1996 Thelonious Monk saxophone competition winner Jon Gordon. He also has performed with Eddie Daniels and The Santa Fe Symphony, Frank Morgan, Joshua Breakstone, Roger Kellaway, Nick Brignola, Lee Konitz, Bud Shank, Bobby Shew and Kenny Davern. In 2003, John began a decade long tenure as musical director of “John Trentacosta and Friends”, a trio plus special guests bi-monthly, which continued until June 2009 at Bumble Bee’s Baja Grill in Santa Fe. The next few years were filled with concerts in New Mexico and New York, and Drum Clinics at Magnarella’s Drum Shop and Grandma’s Music in Albuquerque, NM. In 2010 John played for a Broadway review staring Kaye Ballard, with Liliane Montevecchi, and Donna Mckechnie.
Eddie Daniels
爵士傳奇人物Eddie Daniels，世界三大爵士單簧管之首， 數次葛萊美，83 歲依然活躍與舞台，GRP大樂團 的獨奏家，電影導演 Woody Allen 最崇拜的古典+爵士大師。
艾迪·丹尼爾（Eddie Daniels）是世界上極少數在古典和爵士單簧管領域取得巨大成就的偉大演奏家。
Eddie Daniels是一位真正偉大的爵士樂單簧管演奏家，而且，他的演奏輕松自如，其高超的技法好像是輕而易舉，不費吹灰之力。他繼承了前輩大師在舞台上的良好的風度，同時在音樂中融入了大量現代音樂的成分。正是他的努力，使得單簧管這種樂器在九十年代重新煥發出新的活力。
真正使人們認識到丹尼爾的音樂成就的作品，是他1984年的唱片《突破》。丹尼爾試圖在爵士樂和古典音樂之間尋找一種屬於自己的獨特的聲音，這是他新嘗試，也是許多希望擺脫前輩爵士樂大師音樂束縛的新一代爵士樂音樂家共同的願望。達尼爾曾經探索過Charlie Parker等被普大師的音樂風格，甚至研究過搖擺樂的風格。但將近二十年的摸索之後的《突破》則是他的傾力之作，最能體現他的音樂個性。
Eddie Daniels首次在爵士樂壇露面是在1957年的紐波特音樂節上，當時他是馬歇爾·布朗的青年樂隊的中音薩克斯管手。後來，他進人了紐約著名的朱利亞音樂學院深造，受到了良好的古典音樂教育。

1987年他推出《天堂記憶》中，他的單簧管演奏富於重要的特色。他精彩的演奏彌補了八十年代後期缺乏個性的編曲這一不足，並由此確立他這個時期員出色的單簧管演奏家的地位。在此之後，他為GRP唱片公司又錄制了幾張成功的唱片，其中1989年的《黑木》是較為突出的一張，而其中他的單簧管演奏幾乎達到了出神人化的地步，他的音樂采用了極為流行的節奏，具有極高的商業價值。

John Trentacosta

Cyrus Campbell
